How to Apply

You may apply for the Scholarship for Upland Agriculture and Food Security in these 7 easy steps.

1. Confirm your eligibility to apply. Make sure you are eligible to apply for the scholarship before you do anything else. Read the contents of our website, or contact us for any clarification regarding the qualifications for the scholarship. You may also check if you are eligible to apply here.

2. Send a letter of interest via email. The letter must contain your full name, gender, country of origin, bachelor degree finished, where you finished your bachelor's degree, and your reason/motivation to pursue graduate studies under the scholarship program. 3. Download and fill-out required forms. After sending us your letter of interest, you will receive an email from us containing the scholarship application form, checklist of requirements, admission forms to the universities/study posts, and some instructions on how to apply for the scholarship. 4. Accomplish ALL needed requirements. Make sure to complete all requirements to avoid any delays in processing your application. A list of requirements can be seen here.

5. Scan ALL requirements and submit via email. You may send the e-copies to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 6. Send ALL requirements via courier service. You may use any courier service (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc.) to send your requirements to:

  • Name and country of origin of applicant
  • Date of delivery
  • Courier service used

Important! Must Read!

1. All requirements submitted must be translated or be in English. Non-english documents submitted will not be considered as valid requirement.

2. Each applicant is allowed to apply for multiple MSc programs, provided that the applicant fill outs one application form per MSc program applied for and ALL necessary requirements be attached for each program applied for. For example, if an applicant wants to apply for COURSE 1 and COURSE 2, he/she must attach to the application form 1 set of requirements for COURSE 1, and to the other application form for COURSE 2, another 1 set of requirements.

2. The applicant's choice of MSc program is not absolute. The Selection committee will use the applicant's choice as a guide in choosing the best program for the applicant, together with his/her qualifications, educational background, etc.

3. The applicant's proposed research outline must have a strong focus in agricultural development and food security in the uplands of Southeast Asia. It must have the basic parts: title of proposed research project, statement of the problem, importance of the study, objectives of the study, venue or location of study, and proposed research methodology.

4. The applicant's medical certificate must clearly indicate that the applicant is "in good mental and physical health and is fit to undertake graduate studies overseas". It must also be signed by a medical doctor.
